I have a deep love of the law, which I see as an ever-changing, ongoing effort to make the world a little more predictable and to bring some order to human complexity. As a former educator, I go by the adage: Don’t argue—teach. So, when I’m presenting a case, I get my message across by presenting my audience with the facts, data and context that forge a path for them to reach conclusions favorable to our side.
Centering his practice on construction litigation and government contract issues, Trevor Lane represents owners, general contractors, and subcontractors in both the private and public building industry. He brings experience in handling and resolving disputes, including arbitrations, mediations and bid protests. Additionally, Trevor draws on his skills in interpreting and drafting construction contracts, government contracts and various other agreements used in construction and commercial matters.
Trevor’s background in litigating contracts heightens his ability to spot problematic language and take corrective action to prevent disputes from arising. He looks forward to continuing to provide insightful counsel to clients on the front end of matters so he can help them avoid problems down the road.
Before starting a career in law, Trevor taught students at a middle school in Seattle Public Schools, where he became practiced at capturing and maintaining a group’s attention. He now applies these techniques in the courtroom, weaving engaging narratives that relay information in a truthful way, persuasive way. With outstanding writing skills, Trevor crafts clear documents that support his clients’ positions explicitly.
After law school, Trevor developed his litigation skills as a judicial extern with the Honorable Theresa L. Fricke in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, as a finalist in the Seattle University 2018 James E. Bond ABA Moot Court Competition, and as an extern with the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
