Oles Morrison Attends Construction Industry Hall of Fame Banquet
On June 6, 2008, Sam Baker, Peter Ralston, Robert Burke, Traeger Machetanz, Tom Krider, Todd Henry, Bob Jayne, and Diane Utz attended the University of Washington Construction Hall of Fame Banquet. The Construction Industry Hall of Fame was established in 1995 by the Department of Construction Management at the University of Washington "to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the construction industry and construction education, throughout their professional careers, as well as service to their respective communities." Sam Baker is a 2006 inductee and remains the only lawyer who has been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The banquet also serves as a fundraiser for the Pacific Northwest Center for Construction Research and Education (PNCCRE), a non-profit organization formed to develop a construction research and education center at the old naval base at Sand Point. Oles Morrison and individual firm members have pledged over $40,000 towards funding the development of the Center. Sam Baker and Bob Jayne have been actively involved in committees for fundraising for the University of Washington, and specifically the PNCCRE, since July 2003. The PNCCRE is entering Phase II of construction, with the goal of becoming operational in late 2008.
