Meghan Douris and Jim Nagle to Present at NCMA Columbia Basin

Attorneys Meghan Douris, Partner, and Jim Nagle, Of Counsel, will co-present on Suspensions & Terminations at the Columbia Basin chapter of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA). The day-long seminar will take place on April 14, 2016 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Courtyard by Marriott in Richland, Washington.

In the Government contracting arena, there are many instances in which a contract is required to be suspended or even terminated. In this seminar, Meghan and Jim will cover the various types of suspensions and terminations, different ways of ending a Government contract, delays in Government contracts, and costs associated with suspensions and terminations. This seminar is intended to shed light on the various aspects of each of these situations and arm attendees with the requisite knowledge to assist in administering contracts that may have been or may be suspended or terminated.

Meghan has dedicated her practice to all aspects of the construction industry, including government contracts. She has experience representing owners, design professionals, construction management firms and contractors. She has provided guidance to clients in many areas of construction law, including matters related to differing site conditions, delay and impact claims, professional malpractice and geotechnical engineering concerns as well as other commercial and construction litigation matters. As a LEED Green Associate, Meghan advises clients and provides educational seminars to the industry on a variety of LEED and green building issues including those related to federal contracting. Meghan is also the Founder of Women Leaders in Construction, which provides women from all sectors of the construction industry with a platform for networking and professional development.

Jim’s practice focuses on government contracts. He has extensive experience working with supply, services, international, major systems, and construction contracts. He has represented owners, contractors, subcontractors, sureties, architects, engineers and all parties in the contracting process. His local and national reputation is such that both the government and contractors have used him as a consultant, expert witness or arbitrator/mediator. Prior to joining Oles Morrison, Jim served as chief of the Logistics and Contract Law Branch of the Department of the Army staff. He also served as a trial team chief in the Army’s Contract Appeals Division. Jim is a frequent lecturer on federal government contracts. He has written six books on federal contracting, co-authored nine other books and written over 80 articles on subjects as diverse as protests, changes, terminations, and claims.
