Oles Morrison to Host SBA Seminar for Government Contractors

Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker will host a breakfast seminar, Succeeding with SBA Programs: What Large and Small Government Contractors Need to Knowfrom 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Washington Athletic Club (WAC) in Downtown Seattle.

The seminar will cover the following topics:

  • Maximizing mentor-protégé relationships
  • Avoiding affiliation
  • Teaming and joint venture arrangements
  • Small business subcontracting plans
  • Large businesses participating in small business set-asides

Presenters will include Oles Morrison attorneys, Jim Nagle and Howard Roth, as well as Rick Rauschenbach, Jr., a Business Opportunity Specialist at the Seattle District Office of the SBA.

Jim is nationally renowned for his extensive experience in federal contracting and construction law. His reputation is such that both the government and contractors have used him as a consultant, expert witness or arbitrator/mediator. He formerly served as Chief of the Logistics and Contract Law Branch of the Department of the Army staff. He also served as a trial team chief in the Army’s Contract Appeals Division.

Howard, a former Army Judge Advocate, has practiced government contract law for nearly 25 years. His experience ranges from Commissioner at the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals to Deputy Staff Judge Advocate at an Army Regional Support Command. He was Chief Government Contract Law for a nationwide military command and a trial team chief at the Army Contract Appeals Division.

Rick previously worked with King County Human Resources, Morgan Stanley Financial Services and the Department of the Army at the University of Washington and Seattle University. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1995.
