Jonathan A. DeMella is a partner and member of the firm’s Government Contracts and Construction Law practice groups. His practice is focused on government contracts counseling and litigation, including performance disputes, bid protests, civil fraud under the False Claims Act, procurement ethics, mandatory disclosure, compliance with federal Small Business Administration regulations (including issues specific to Alaska Native Corporations), and Buy American Act and Trade Agreements Act compliance.
Mr. DeMella also conducts complex internal investigations, corporate compliance reviews, and in-house training programs for clients across the United States.
In addition to his practice, Mr. DeMella is a frequently requested author and guest speaker on a variety Government Contract topics. Recently, such topics have included compliance with SBA rules and regulations, subcontractor flowdown requirements, DCAA audits, construction contracting under the FAR, changes, ethics and FCA compliance, and E-Verify.
Prior to joining Oles Morrison in 2005, Mr. DeMella was an attorney in the government contracts counseling and litigation department of Sidley Austin, LLP’s Washington, D.C. office. Following graduation from law school, he clerked for the Honorable Christine O.C. Miller of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
