Practice Emphasis and Experience

Kate Kennedy is a member of the firm’s government contracts practice group, where she advises clients contracting with local, state, and federal agencies for supply, services, major systems and construction. She also advises clients in areas related to administrative law and commercial litigation.

Kate graduated in 2008 from Brooklyn Law School, where she served on the Executive Board of the Journal of Law and Policy as Articles Editor, and on the New York City Bar Association Committee on Education and the Law. Kate interned with the Office of the Attorney General of the State of New York, a senior justice of the New York Supreme Court, and the American Civil Liberties Union.  As a law clerk with the New York Attorney General’s Office, Kate defended the State against a variety of claims ranging from unjust conviction to workers’ compensation and gained valuable experience in government litigation while attending hearings and settlement negotiations.

Kate received her undergraduate education at Carleton College where she studied Sociology, Anthropology, and Educational Studies.  Upon graduating, Kate joined AmeriCorps and developed literacy programs in elementary schools in Madison, Wisconsin.
