The CREW Network recognized Angelia D. Wesch as a recipient of the 2016 Career Advancement for Women Impact Award.

Angelia, a partner in Oles Morrison’s Seattle office, assists real estate developers, owners, property management firms and construction clients in transactional, litigation and insurance coverage matters. For more than 25 years, Angelia’s insurance coverage practice has included resolving first and third party insurance coverage disputes and litigating complex multimillion-dollar construction claims involving builder’s risk, commercial general liability, and errors and omissions (“E&O”) policies. Angelia advises construction clients on contractual issues involving tenders of defense and indemnity, additional insured coverage and extra-contractual damages.

In addition to her professional practice, Angelia has always been deeply involved with the community, providing leadership and training to women within the real estate and construction industries.  She served as President of CREW Seattle and Sound Chapter in 1999.

“Oles Morrison has long been a supporter of women in leadership, both in law and within the real estate and construction industries,” said J. Craig Rusk, Oles Morrison’s co-managing partner. “Angelia’s commitment advancing women in the Seattle community, and within our firm, through mentorships exemplifies the nature of Oles Morrison’s long legacy of community involvement. The firm has benefited greatly from Angelia’s leadership. ”

Presented at the 2016 CREW Network Convention and Marketplace in New York City, the 2016 Career Advancement for Women Impact Award honors CREW Network members who consistently exemplify CREW Network’s commitment to elevating the status of women in commercial real estate by working to advance the careers of other women.  This award went to members of the CREW Seattle and Sound Chapter’s Leadership Series Task Force comprised of:

  • Kris Beason, CREW Seattle and Sound
  • Ginger Bryant, CREW San Francisco
  • Anne DeVoe Lawler, CREW Seattle and Sound
  • Lori Hill, CREW Seattle and Sound
  • Shawn Rush, CREW Network Member-at-Large
  • Angelia Wesch, CREW Seattle and Sound

The Leadership Series is an eight-month course comprised of highly-interactive sessions focusing on key leadership topics. The curriculum for the series was conceived and developed by the Task Force based on the unique challenges they have faced throughout their careers in commercial real estate. Each Task Force member contributes over 200 hours per year to keep the Leadership Series impactful and on track.

The results achieved and experiences shared among participants over the past three years have been astounding. Participants complete a development plan with ongoing support from a Task Force member, and progress, such as salary increases and promotions are tracked.
