Mon Jul 9, 2018

Douglas Oles and Alix Town authored the U.S. chapter for the fifth edition of The International Comparative Legal Guide To: Construction & Engineering Law 2018. The international publication “covers common issues in construction and engineering laws and regulations” and provides guidance on how to navigate various national legal systems. The chapter is available to read here.

Douglas Oles is a leader in a variety of construction industry groups that keep him at the forefront of new developments in contracting and claim resolution. He helps his clients avoid and resolve disputes on a wide variety of complex public and private contracts in the construction, supply, energy and real estate development industries. He also works as neutral mediator and arbitrator in contract-based disputes. With more than three decades of transactional, litigation and arbitration experience, Douglas is deeply committed to helping his clients solve problems promptly and cost-efficiently. He has represented both claimants and respondents in resolving multiple disputes over $100,000,000 and in a wide variety of smaller cases.

With a focus on government contracts, Alix Town frequently represents owners, general contractors and subcontractors on a broad range of federal, state, and local government contracts and related litigation matters including contract formation and administration matters, government investigations, and contract claims and disputes. Using her experience and knowledge of federal procurement processes and systems, Alix assists contractors with state transportation construction projects, including bridges and light-rail. She also represents tunneling and micro-tunneling contractors, Base Operating Services contractors, paving contractors, fabricators, and Army Corps and Navy construction project contractors.
