Sam Baker Elected to National Academy of Construction

The National Academy of Construction (NAC) has elected Sam E. Baker, Jr., senior partner of Oles Morrison, as a new member of its 2014 class. He will be inducted October 24, 2014 at the NAC Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas. The 2014 class includes 28 new inductees. More than 250 industry leaders were considered for the NAC’s rigorous nomination and election process.

Sam has practiced construction law for more than 40 years, with extensive experience evaluating and resolving complex construction disputes. His clients are primarily major construction firms, including heavy civil, marine, buildings, and industrial. He is the only attorney who has been inducted into the University of Washington Construction Hall of Fame. Likewise, he is the only attorney to have served as an Honorary Director of the Beavers and a Trustee of its Charitable Trust. In 2012, Sam was awarded the coveted Golden Beaver Award for Service.

The NAC is an organization made up of industry leaders whose present or past professional careers demonstrate outstanding contribution to the effectiveness of the engineering and construction industry. The election of members to the NAC follows a peer-nomination and clearance procedure and final new membership is approved by the entire Academy.
