Oles Morrison Welcomes Three New Attorneys

Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker, LLP, is proud to welcome three outstanding new attorneys to our team, including Shaun C. Kennedy, Michael J. Schmidt, and Sean P. Dowell. All three attorneys are based in our Seattle office.

Shaun Kennedy is an experienced government contracts attorney who provides business-oriented legal guidance to help clients navigate the complex framework of federal government contracts. He regularly advises clients on all matters of compliance with federal procurement statutes and regulations. Shaun has extensive experience prosecuting and defending bid protests challenging agency award decisions. His practice also includes conducting internal investigations and assisting clients in responding to subpoenas issued by the federal government. Shaun is a member of our Government Contracts, Construction, and Commercial Litigation practice teams.

Mike Schmidt’s practice focuses on advising contractors on government and commercial contracts, insurance coverage issues, and representing contractors in litigation. Previously, Mike practiced insurance coverage law and litigation in Washington State and California. Before becoming an attorney, Mike worked for several years in corporate finance for a multinational defense contractor. He has joined our Commercial Litigation, Construction, Government Contracts, and Insurance Coverage & Surety practice teams.

Sean Dowell is a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design & Construction and a recent graduate of the Seattle University School of Law. During law school, Sean was a Lead Article Editor for the Seattle University Law Review. Sean also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Ronald B. Leighton of the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington. Prior to law school, Sean worked as a commercial construction project manager and owners representative, primarily on educational facilities and other government projects. He is a member of the firm’s Construction, Commercial Litigation, and Government Contracts practice teams.
